ANMC receives around 300,000 as a grant from Victorian Government

Melbourne, Australia – ANMC, The Australian Multicultural Center of Nepal, has received a grant of about 300,000 from the Australian government.

ANMC President Rajesh Acharya has announced through a Zoom meeting that the center of the Nepali community has received a grant of 2,81,587 Australian dollars from the government of Victoria. ANMC had submitted a proposal to the Government of Victoria for a grant to construct a building including a temple on its own land. Accepting the proposal, Victoria’s Multicultural Minister Ros Spence approved a grant to construct a building for the Nepalese community on the land of ANMC on Duncas Lane.
Minister Spence has congratulated the Victorian government on the approval of financial support for promoting the culture of the Nepali community and increasing social harmony under the Multicultural Community Support Program.

Chairman Acharya has informed that although there is a challenge to complete the grant received in time to be able to work in the next 1 year, the action plan is clear and the work can be done within the stipulated time. In the next one year, ANMC will build a community building for disabled people, in which there are plans to build a Buddha stupa, a Hindu temple, and a meditation center. In addition, public toilets, which can accommodate up to 2 people at a time, will have to be renovated.
