Amazing parents promoting children of different abilities in the Nepali community in Australia


Melbourne, A social organization called Amazing Parents formed by the Nepali community has been established in Victoria, Australia. Amazing Parents is a non-profitable organization formed by parents of children with Autism and other special needs. It is particularly designed to help and facilitate the process of developing communication and social skills for the children affected by various developmental disorder and intellectual disability. It particularly focuses on the development and improvement of the social skills by organizing fun based interactive training programs in a suitable environmental setting so that the children are able to live an independent and meaningful life.
The organization, which is moving ahead with effective plans to create a fair environment and an equal society for children of different abilities and has succeeded in establishing itself in a short period of time. Amazing Parents has also organized a Christmas greeting exchange program. The program, which included gifts, music and various entertainment for the children, was held on Saturday, December 11.

According to the organizers, the event was attended by about 50 parents and about 25 children. The parents also exchanged greetings in a fun atmosphere for the children.

At the event, Sangita Timilsina, Chairperson of Amazing Parents, shared her experiences as a parent, highlighting the organization’s plans and objectives. Chairperson Timilsina thanked all those who helped make the event a success. She also extended her special thanks to Dristi and Pranisha for their support as volunteers throughout the event. The program was conducted by Executive Committee Member Sujan Bharati. In a conversation with Himalayan Kangaroos, the chairperson of the organization Sangita Timilsina said, “We are very happy that the parents have shown their interest to support the objectives of the organization. The Executive Committee members raised the money for the event. When that wasn’t enough, we decided seek help from the parents and their friends and family members to raise money. We got such a good response from them that sufficient money was collected for the program in a short time. Similarly, the participation of children and parents in the program was also extremely remarkable. That fact must be taken into account.” She said that the organization has also made its official website public and thanked Mr. Gagan Khatri for providing free assistance for the construction of the website.
