Ambassador Dahal presents Letter of Credence to New Zealand via video conference


The COVID-19 health crisis has presented us with unique situations – it has taught us to act in the interest of public health, and has the pandemic continues, it also teaches us that our daily activities must continue – albeit in a physically distanced manner.

In a unique experience of physical distancing, Nepalese Ambassador to Australia, H.E. Mahesh Raj Dahal has presented his letter of credence to New Zealand via a video-conference on Tuesday morning.

Ambassador Dahal, appearing live from the Nepalese Embassy in Canberra presented his letters of credence to Rt. Hon Dame Patsy Reddy GNZM, QSO, Governor-General of New Zealand.

Ambassador Dahal also expressed good wishes to the New Zealand government and its people on behalf of President Bhandari, PM K P Sharma Oli, and the people of Nepal. He congratulated the New Zealand government in its successful efforts to control the spread of coronavirus in their country.

Diplomatic channels between Nepal and New Zealand were established on 26th May, 1961. The Embassy of Nepal in Canberra is concurrently accredited to New Zealand as well.
