Ambassador Kailash Raj Pokharel’s 4-Day Visit to Melbourne (Photos Feature)


Melbourne, Australia – Nepal’s Ambassador to Australia Kailash Raj Pokharel came to Melbourne last Thursday. He was received at the airport by Hon. Consulate General of Victoria Mr. Chandra Yonzon. After arriving in Melbourne, Ambassador Pokhrel met with the Multicultural Minister of the State of Victoria, Ross Spence.

On the same day, Ambassador Pokhrel discussed with the Nepali community on the organization of the office of the Consulate General of Victoria. During this, the Nepali community requested the ambassador to create a safe investment environment in Nepal.

On Friday, Ambassador Pokharel visited Glenroy Library in conjunction with Mayor CR Mark, Where Nepali books and culture are also included with a special place. On the same day, Ambassador Pokharel met with Victoria’s Minister of Education and Women, Natalie Hutchins. During the meeting, the issues of strengthening the relations between the two countries were discussed. After that, Ambassador Pokharel had a meeting with Viv Nguyen, President of Victoria Multicultural Commission. During the talks, there was a discussion about the presence of the Nepali community in Victoria.


Ambassador Pokharel, who was the chief guest at the Nepal Festival organized by NRNA on Saturday, went to the Parliament of Victoria in Melbourne and signed a condolence book, expressing his grief over the death of Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain on the same day. Along with him, Hon. Consulate General of Victoria Mr. Chandra Yonzon, also signed the condolence book.
