Ambulance Paramedic assaulted in Surry Hills, NSW

On 21 May 2019, officers from Surry Hills Police Area Command responded to a report of an intoxicated man near the intersection of Campbell Street and Bourke Street at about 7.30 in the evening.

The officers were able to locate a 37-year-old man and ambulance paramedics were called to treat the man. However, the man became increasingly hostile and hit a 25-year-old lady paramedic on her left forearm with closed fist.

The paramedic was not injured. The man was arrested and charged with assault. He is remanded to appear at court today.
