Australia coronavirus: No active cases of COVID-19 in ACT

The Australian Capital Territory (ACT) has become the first Australian state or territory to not have any known active cases of COVID-19.

The ACT’s total number of coronavirus cases remains at 106 with a total of 103 patients recovered from COVID-19 and 3 deaths. The territory has zero cases for the first time after two months from the coronavirus was first found in ACT.

The last two Canberrans to have the infectious disease have now recovered, the ACT Government confirmed today.

Dr Kerryn Coleman, ACT Chief Health Officer, has confirmed the news that the ACT no longer has any active cases of COVID-19. However, he has cautioned the community that the pandemic is still ongoing and suggested to be careful.

Australia has 6,752 coronavirus cases with 91 deaths and 5,715 recovered patients, till date.
