Extreme cold has hit Australia’s south-east region – in NSW, BOM (Bureau of Meteorology) has warned its residents to brace itself for ‘Antarctic winds’, blowing from south of Tasmania. The ‘cold’ is expected to last through the weekend, with winds exceeding 90km/h for the Illawarra, high parts of the south coast, the Central Tablelands, Southern Tablelands and the Snowy Mountains.
In NSW, residents of Blue Mountains and surrounding areas woke up to a beautiful snowfall – Twitter has been ablaze with ecstatic snow pictures. Here, we share a few with you:
A little bit of snow up the Blue Mountains this morning. These photos are just outside my place of residence. I live less than a 1000 metres from the Three Sisters. I could only imagine how things look down at Echo Point. Wishing everyone a great day !!! pic.twitter.com/g6mZQ81Bxq
