Burwood Westfield and Service NSW Burwood have been placed on high alert after NSW Heath authorities confirmed a person who tested positive for Covid-19 infection visited both facilities last week.

Anyone who was in the shopping centre, including Kmart and Woolworths on Thursday August 20 between 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. has been urged to monitor themselves for symptoms.

The same advice has also been extended to anyone who visited Service NSW Burwood on Friday, August 21 from 2:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.

“If symptoms appear, please self-isolate immediately, and get tested”, health authorities have advised.

According to reports, a security guard working at a Sydney quarantine hotel violated health advice after he went shopping instead of self-isolating soon after testing positive for Covid-19 on Thursday.

The security guard allegedly visited a number of stores including Kmart and Woolworths. The guard also visited Service NSW Burwood the following day.

NSW Police issued two fines to the violator, and he has been since transferred to a NSW Health COVID-19 quarantine facility, where he will spend the remainder of his quarantine period.
