Expert Education establishes $200,000 Support Fund to assist international students


Expert Foundation, a charity initiative of Expert Education and Visa Services has established an AUD 200,000 Support Fund to help students who have been impacted by the health emergency attributed to COVID-19.

To be eligible for the assistance, the student must have:

  1. First arrived in Australia on or after 1st October 2019, and recruited/placed with Australian education providers through our offices, and;
  2. Must be a current Expert student who has lost their job, or has never had a job since his/her arrival to Australia.

Those who fulfil the above mentioned criteria are encouraged to register through the link https://eevs.co/covid19-assistance.

Students who qualify will receive an grocery-only card worth $300. Registrations will open from 5 April 2020   9AM(AEST) to 30 April 2020 12AM(AEST).  Distribution will be made from 1st May 2020 onward.

According to Sanjeev Sharma, Director at Expert Education and Visa Services, the initiative was arrived upon by Expert Group after assessing the impact of COVID-19 upon international students, especially those who have arrived recently.  “The initiative will be run by Expert Foundation, the charitable arm of Expert Education and Visa Services”, he added.

Expert Group will also provide other forms of assistance to international students. They include counseling and other support services, Tax and Superannuation suggestions, liasing on behalf of the students with universities, education providers, community and other organisations.

As per the education group, the AUD 200,000 fund will be allocated upon two categories:

  1. AUD 150,000 on direct benefits for students.
  2. AUD 50,000 towards community organisations extending their support to international students affected by COVID-19 in Australia.
