The number of deaths is also increasing with the in the last few weeks. 26 people have died in New South Wales, 25 in Victoria and 18 in Queensland. Queensland has been hit hardest by the latest wave of covid. There, 983 people are being treated at the hospital for Covid-infected patients. Meanwhile, health and school officials in Australia have urged students and other school staff to wear face masks for the next four weeks.
It has also been indicated that some temporary rules will be implemented targeting schools. This may include rules such as dividing students into different groups and studying online from home. Since the start of winter in Australia, the number of covid infections has also increased.
