Melbourne, Australia:

“International students in Australia working in the hospitality and tourism industry will have their fortnightly 40 hour working hour cap removed as early as next week”, according to a report by SBS News.

Both international students and the tourism and hospitality industry have suffered immensely owing to the Covid-19 crisis – lifting of restrictions will allow both the international students and the industry to revive and thrive.

International students in Australia are permitted to work 40 hour every fortnight as per their visa conditions. “Immigration Minister Alex Hawke says the move will help fill staffing gaps in these sectors and support Australia’s economy recovery”, according to SBS News. An estimated 300,000 international students can benefit from the lifting of restrictions.
