An investigation is underway after the NSW Police Force Wall of Remembrance in the Domain was desecrated.

The damage was discovered about 9.30am today and is believed sometime before sometime before Tuesday 13 August 2019.

Investigations reveal five panels were damaged by someone using a blunt object.

Officers from Sydney City Local Area Command attended the scene and conducted a forensic examination.

An investigation is underway and police are appealing for information in an attempt to identify and locate those responsible.

Detective Inspector Kerrie Brill, Duty Officer at Sydney City Police Area Command, said she is appalled the memorial has again been damaged.

“This memorial is a sacred place for all NSW Police Officers and the families of those who have made the ultimate sacrifice whilst serving the people of this state,” Detective Inspector Brill said.

“Those who have done this know exactly what they have done and should realise one thing.

“It is better for you and/or your associates to come forward and contact us before we find you.”
