Sydney: Wife charged over husband’s murder after domestic dispute escalates

A woman has been charged with murder (Domestic Violence) after her husband succumbed to injuries on Saturday night in Granville, NSW. The couple have been identified as of Nepali origin.

Emergency services were called to a home on Blaxcell Street about 7.30pm (Saturday 23 November 2019), where the 34-year-old husband was found seriously injured.

He was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to Westmead Hospital where he died.

A 34-year-old woman, identified as Neema Gautam was also found injured at the home. She was arrested and taken to Westmead Hospital for treatment under police guard.

Upon being discharged, the woman was returned to Granville Police Station, where she was charged with murder (DV).

She has been refused bail to appear at Parramatta Bail Court today (Sunday 24 November 2019).

Detectives from Cumberland Police Area Command continue investigations into the incident – preliminary reports suggest the couple were involved in a domestic dispute which led to altercation.

The Nepalese Community in Australia has expressed sadness over the incident.
