Australia:
Victoria has recorded its fourth consecutive day of zero new local cases of Covid-19. There were more than 23,000 test results processed on Saturday.
Meanwhile, six new Covid-19 infections in hotel quarantine were reported – five of them are returned travellers, and the other is a flight crew member.
In neighbouring NSW, three cases of local Covid-19 cases were reported – two linked to the Berala cluster, one to the northern beaches.
There are now 23 cases linked to the Berala cluster, and 150 cases linked to the Avalon cluster. NSW Chief Health Officer Kerry Chant thanking the people for turning up to test themselves, said the next fortnight was critical to the management of the latest outbreaks.
“We need to maintain those high rates of testing for at least 14 days and I would like to see them sustained beyond that,” Dr Chant said.
