Melbourne, Australia:

Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews outlined a series of easing Covid-19 restrictions which will be in-effect from 11:59 p.m. tonight.

  • Melburnians will be allowed to travel within a 25 kilometre radius of their homes.
  • 2 hour time limit on exercising/socialising removed.
  • Up to ten people from two households can gather outside in a public place such as parks.
  • Outdoor filming and photography permitted.
  • Tennis, skate parks, golf and other outdoor sports settings to open.
  • Outdoor swimming pools will be open for up to 30 people.
  • Hairdressers will be allowed to open with strict safety protocols.

Meanwhile it is important to note that Melburnians are still prohibited from entering other people’s homes, and can socialise with another family outside in a public place only.

The Premier has also said Melbourne can look forward to further easing of restrictions from Sunday, 1st of November from when,

  • the four reasons to leave home will be scrapped,
  • restrictions on retail and hospitality sector most likely to be eased.
  • Up to 2 adults will be allowed to visit your home, but only one group per day.
  • Weddings with 10 people will be allowed.
  • Up to 20 people may attend a funeral.

The November 1st easing of restrictions are directly related to Melbourne’s 14-day daily case rolling average and mystery cases – and may be realised earlier or later than expected.
