Anil Pokharel elected NRNA Australia President with landslide win


Sydney based entrepreneur Anil Pokharel and his panel has secured a convincing win in NRNA Australia election for the term 2023-25. In an election held on 29th July Mr Pokharel received staggering 5266 votes as his closest opponent Dev Gurung received 3380. Similarly another contestant for the same position Dila Kharel got 3347 votes. 640 members voted neutral for the position.

After the win Mr Pokharel has said that his win is a message that Nepalese diaspora in Australia has sought transformation in the organisation with team of  youth with new vision in leadership.

Mr Pokharel has served as a national treasurer for last two consecutive terms before contesting for the top job.

Likewise Santosh Kunwar has been elected as General Secretary, Thir Bahadur Gurung as the Secretary, Arjun Gautam as the treasurer, Rozy Panta as joint treasurer , Sangita Bhandari as Nari Nikunj(women wing of NRNA Australia)coordinator and Suman Bohora as youth coordinator.

Bharat raj Poudel, Dilliram Dhakal, Dinesh Adhikari, Madan Raj Poudel, , Ramesh Adhikari, Narayan Kumar Katuwal, Ramesh Adhikari, Sujan Adhikari, and Tikaram Bhurtel have been elected to represent Australia as ICC(International Coordination Council) members.

On the state level , Bikram Subedi has been elected as state coordinators for Australia capital territory , Binod Kunwar in New South Wales, Shambhu Gaise in Queensland, Sanjeeb Dhakal in Northern Territory, Sanjayraj Puri in South Australia , Jagadish Khadka in Tasmania ,Mani Ratna Sapkota in Victoria and Shekhar Ghimire in Western Australia have been elected as state coordinators.
