Non-Resident Nepali Association Australia’s Victorian chapter is organizing a picnic for parents and elderlies on Sunday, the 26th of November. The picnic is aiming to bring together parents and guardians who are in Australia either for a short or long time. According to Secretary Gautam Lamichhane, the picnic is an initiative by NRN to increase community harmony and wellbeing. The picnic will be held in Melbourne’s Yan Yean Reservoir Park.
NRN Vice President Keshav Kandel has requested Nepalis in Victoria to come along with their parents/guardians and make the picnic a success. The picnic will also have an introduction program, a small cultural presentation, and shall listen to the stories of the elders.
An estimated 15,000 Nepalis live in Victoria. Entry is free to all and the picnic is supported by the Consulate General’s Office of Victoria and Nepalese Association of Victoria.
