International conference on food sovereignty to be held on March 10

An International Conference on Food Sovereignty and Famers’ Rights is to be held in Kathmandu on 10-12 March.
The National Farmer Commission is organising the event to frame the rights of the farmers in the relevant laws of the country.
Chitra Bahadur Shrestha, Chairperson of the Commission, informed that 15 working papers related to food sovereignty would be presented in the conference.
As many as 350 participants from Nepal, Bangladesh, China, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Pakistan, the Philippines, Sri Lanka, South Korea and Vietnam are taking part in the conference, he shared at a press conference organised to impart information about the event.
Rabindra KC, Spokesperson of the Commission, said the conference would help establish fraternity with farmers from other countries taking part in the event.
