Melbourne, Australia — Chitwan Cricket Club has been crowned the champion of the Grace Cup 2026, winning the tournament's top prize of AUD 6,000. Along with the cash prize, the team also received the championship trophy and certificates.
Organised by the Nepalese Cricket Association Victoria (NCAV), the Grace Cup is regarded as one of the highest prize-money cricket tournaments within the Victorian Nepali community. A total of nine teams participated in this year's competition.
In an exciting final, Chitwan Cricket Club defeated Tricon Cricket Club by eight wickets to secure the championship title. The runners-up, Tricon Cricket Club, received AUD 3,000 in prize money. Cash awards were also presented to outstanding players in various individual categories.
The presentation ceremony was attended by Nathan Lambert, Member of Parliament for Preston and Reservoir, as the chief guest. Other distinguished attendees included Mahadev Dhanuk, Coordinator of NRNA Victoria; Sudip Shrestha, Vice President of the Nepalese Association of Victoria (NAV); former NAV President Prem Raj Upreti; Love Sharma, CEO of Eureka Institute; Raj Sharma, Director of Eureka Institute; Shrijal Aryal, Marketing Officer at Builders Academy; Babisha Pandey from Laura Education; Shankar Dharel, Director of MaxiMax Education; Govinda Pathak, Secretary of Chitwan Society; and representatives from Grace International.
Organisers said the Grace Cup continues to promote cricket while strengthening friendship, unity, and community engagement among the Nepali diaspora in Victoria.
