For millions of Nepalis, Sunday morning offered a pleasant change of content on their social media newsfeed – an otherwise COVID-19 related content was overtaken by a Nepali Diaspora artist – Bhim Niroula. Videos of him singing his popular song ‘Sunday Morning Love You’ at the auditions of Britain’s Got Talent, and judges and audience grooving to the tune was just the Sunday morning upliftment we needed.
Videos of his performance was viral on social media, initially amidst Britishers, and eventually to all parts of the globe – by Sunday afternoon, the video was the 19th trending video on YouTube.
Bhim Niroula, however is no stranger to becoming viral based on his content. Back in 2013, when Niroula released his debut song ‘Sunday Morning Love You’ – the song was an instant sensation. It was shared thousands of times, and by 2013 end, most Nepalis had already got the drift of the catchy tune. Then, he caught the attention of Nepalis, this time, the viral’s catchy tune has caught the attention of Britishers too.
Niroula, 54 years and settled in Reading, UK, also appeared in India’s Got Talent in 2018. He appeared on Britain’s Got Talent on Saturday evening, 25th April, 202o. Although Simon Cowell wasn’t impressed, and pressed his red buzzer, however, as the audience grooved to his track, Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly took over the stage alongside him – even singing his catchy lines with him. By the end of his performance, judges Amanda Holden, David Walliams and Alesha Dixon were singing and dancing too.
