Chairperson of Nepalese Film Development Board, Nikita Poudel, resigned from the position on Tuesday. Poudel submitted her resignation letter to Minister of Communication and Information, Gokul Prasad Baskota.
“I have resigned from the position to be effective from Wednesday”, Poudel said. She further stated that she will be devoted towards social service now onwards.
Poudel was appointed as the chairperson of Film Development Board on 11 December 2017. The resignation letter mentioned that Poudel was responsible for bringing in numerous positive initiatives in the board including Box Office system in Nepalese film industry.
Poudel was receiving public attention lately regarding her relationship with Rabi Lamichhane, a well-known media personality of Nepal. Lamichhane revealed about their marriage registration via Facebook post on 21 January and also asked for privacy in their personal lives.
