149 people who returned from Qatar on Friday have been transferred to a quarantine centre in Kharipati after they were suspected of COVID-19.

The 149 returnees, of which six are women, and one is a minor had landed in Tribhuvan International Airport via a Qatar Airways Flight on Friday. However, instead of taking them to regular holding centres, they were transferred to the Bhaktapur based quarantine facility.

PCR tests of all returnees will be conducted before a further decision is taken. It is unsure what the basis of suspicion mode was however – as earlier all arrivals would be taken to respective holding centres before arranging their transfers.
