More than 17,000 people of Baitadi were administered with the first dose of Verocell vaccine against the coronavirus during the latest vaccination drive carried out in the district.
Chandan Subedi of the statistics branch of the health office, Baitadi said a total of 17,299 people had received the first dose of the vaccine during the vaccination campaign executed during August 1-5. The campaign was conducted at 96 centers, he said, adding that the vaccines were administered to the people aged between 55-60 years, school teachers and staff, drivers and conductors of public vehicles, staff of the campus and the targeted group who missed out on their previous shots.
The district had received 18,000 doses of the vaccine, which were administered to 17,299 people, he said.
According to the data maintained by the local level, a total of 3,150 people have been vaccinated in Purchaudi Municipality, 2,318 people in Patan Municipality, 2,394 people in Dasharathchanda Municipality, 1,786 people in Dogadakedar Municipality and 1,664 people in Dilasheni Municipality.
Similarly, 1,364 people have been vaccinated in Melauli Municipality, 1,534 in Sigas Municipality and 1,261 in Surnaya Municipality, according to the Health Office, Baitadi.
The second dose of Verocell will be given after 28 days, the health office informed.
