The Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office (KVTPO) on Tuesday took action against 25 vehicles which were unfit to operate.
A special traffic check conducted with the help of mechanical devices immediately after Dashain festival by the Office and the officials of the Department of Transport Management in Bhaktapur area found the vehicles operating without maintaining their condition and took action against them.
Of the total 125 vehicles checked, 16 have been sent to the vehicle test office of the Department of Transport Management at Teku, according to Joint Spokesperson and SP Abadesh Bista Chhetri.
Traffic checking was conducted on public vehicles like microbuses, vans, and Tata Sumos. Additional 16 other vehicles were seized during the checking by the traffic police office for further action.
A technical team from the Department has also cooperated in checking the condition of the vehicles. Special vehicle test machines and devices were brought by the employees of the Department, said SP Bista.
According to SP Bista, the Office has been continuing such checks as a campaign.
