455 new cases, two deaths in 24 hours


With 455 new cases (RT-PCR and antigen tests combined) of COVID-19 confirmed on Sunday, the nation’s novel coronavirus tally has reached 993,032.

In 2,308 Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) tests done in the past 24 hours, a total of 305 people were found infected with SARS-CoV-2, informed the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) in its regular update on Sunday.

Likewise, the virus infection was detected in 150 people in 2,521 antigen tests performed in the last 24 hours.

Currently, there are 5,435 active cases of COVID-19 across the nation of which, 189 are admitted to institutional isolation while 5,246 patients are placed in home isolation. Out of which 65 are in ICU and two are on ventilator support.

Meanwhile, 302 COVID-19 patients receiving treatment in institutional isolation or staying in home isolation recovered from the infection in the last 24 hours.

Nepal has now recorded 975,609 cases of recovery, and the recovery rate is at 98.2 per cent.

Two fatalities related to COVID-19 were recorded in the last 24 hours, according to the MoHP. So far, Nepals’ COVID-19 death toll has reached 11,988.
