674 Nepalis infected with Covid-19 in Saudi Arabia

As many as 674 Nepali nationals have been infected with Covid-19 disease in Saudi Arabia, Nepal’s major foreign employment destination.

According to Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Health and Foreign Ministry, 336 Nepali nationals have been infected in Eastern Saudi region whereas 148 in Western Saudi. Similarly, 175 Nepalis are confirmed to have been infected with coronavirus in Riyadh and three people each in Al Qassim and Ha’il regions.

Eastern Saudi Arabia has a dense population of Nepali migrant workers. The Embassy of Nepal in Riyadh has informed that several Nepalis have also already returned to work after recovering from the disease.

The Saudi government has confirmed the death of one Nepali national in the country due to coronavirus.
