Nepal Police arrested 71 people from all over the country for being involved in anti-election activities. The police detained them on charges of trying to disrupt the voting by causing riots, explosions and arsons.
According to the spokesperson for Nepal Police, SSP Daan Bahadur Karki, the perpetrators are arrested and kept in their respective districts including Morang, Parsa, Rautahat, Kaski, Sarlahi, Makwanpur and Nawalparasi. Similarly, more than 25 were arrested from Kathmandu Valley.
Karki informed that the detained are being investigated for indecent behavior and other related crimes. The process of legal action against them didn’t start on Monday due to public holiday.
According to the police, more than 18 arrested, including cadres of Netra Bikram Chand (Biplav), were active to disrupt the election.
