District Police Office of Saptari amidst a press meet in Rajbiraj said they have arrested a father and son on murder charge in connection to the death of one Ajay Mukhiya of Pipartole, Kanchanrup Municipality.

Police said that they had launched a search operation to find missing Ajay Mukhiya after their family filed a missing report. The search operation ended after police found the body of Mukhiya buried in a five feet pit along the banks of Triyuga River, Kanchanpur.

Further investigation suggested that a group of seven people including Ajay and the two arrested had gone to a nearby jungle to hunt for wild boar. Unfortunately, Ajay Mukhiya got electrocuted in the fence which was set as a trap to ambush the wild boar.

According to the police, the remaining six members, in a bid to hide the incident buried Mukhiya along the river bank and went their ways.

Investigations are ongoing and police believe they will have to make further arrests in connection to the case.
