Nepali Ambassador to Pakistan Tapas Adhikari has said it was now time to translate the goodwill subsisting between Nepal and Pakistan into economic cooperation and interactions. As both countries are aspiring for development, they need to maximize the economic opportunities available within them for the benefit of their people.
In a meeting with the President of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) Irfan Iqbal Sheikh and office bearers of the Chamber in Islamabad today, Ambassador shared the Government of Nepal’s economic policies to attract foreign direct investment that could be useful to Pakistani investors and traders to promote trade and investment.
Stating that the Chamber has a great role to mobilize entrepreneurs and businesspersons, Ambassador Adhikari suggested the Chamber leaders visit Nepal to explore business opportunities. He also shared that Nepal is a hub of adventure tourism and it has an excellent hospitality industry in South Asia and suggested visiting Nepal with friends and family for their official or personal business to enjoy Nepali hospitality, food, culture and other tourism activities.
On the occasion, the President of the Chamber and members appreciated the Ambassador’s visit and information about trade and business opportunities in Nepal. They expressed their eagerness to translate the Nepal-Pakistan friendly relations into the economic field. They also assured to visit Nepal to explore business opportunities and to interact with Nepali businesspersons and assured full cooperation of the Chamber to the Nepali Embassy in promoting Nepal-Pakistan economic relations.
The FPCCI is an umbrella organization of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry in Pakistan. Established in 1950, the FPCCI is playing an active role in highlighting the concerns of trade, industry and environment and safeguarding the interests of the private sector in Pakistan. (RSS)
