Army Clearing Landslides Of Sulichaur-Pyuthan Road Section

A team of the Nepali Army has begun works to reopen the Sulichaur-Aresh-Pyuthan road section that had been blocked due to landslides for the past one year.
In the initiative of the District Administration Office, Rolpa, and Sunil Smriti Rural Municipality-4, the Nepali Army’s Batuk Dal Battalion deployed from Rolpa district has been mobilising a blasting team on a daily basis for the past six days to clear the debris accumulated on the road section.

According to a press statement issued by the Directorate of Public Relations and Information, the initiative has been taken after the locals residing in the remote areas of Pyuthan and Rolpa districts continued facing hardships for transportation of goods and free movement of vehicles.

Locals have been complaining to the rural municipality office that they were facing difficulty even in taking the sick people to the health
clinics and the district headquarters for treatment.

The Army has informed that it would take some more time to remove the debris and resume the road completely as large rocks along with the landslide has created an obstruction in about 20 metres of the road section.
