Artistes are mirror of society: CM Shahi

Karnali Province Chief Minister Jeevan Bahadur Shahi dubbed artists as the ”mirror of society”.

Inaugurating a five-day Karnali Film Workshop in Birendranagar, Surkhet district today, CM Shahi lauded that the film industry has been contributing to the development of the country.

Urging one and all to change the poor perspectives towards Karnali, Shahi stated that Karnali Province is virgin land that introduced Nepal to the world.

Similarly, senior artiste, Prem Dev Giri called for producing skilled human resources that could realistically portray the realities and real stories of Karnali Province.

Likewise, senior theatre artist Ganesh Bhakta Gautam viewed that Karnali is rich in arts and the five-day workshop would help further hone the skills of the artists here.

He lamented that although there are a good number of artists and producers in Surkhet, the provincial capital of Karnali Province, they could not earn their livelihood through this sector.

Film Development Board former chairperson Ganesh Bhandari recalled that National Film Festival was organized in Surkhet in 2068 BS and said that the workshop would also give a positive message about skilled artists in the Province.

Bhupendra Khadka, the chairperson of KB Entertainment Group, the organizer of the workshop, shared that the workshop was organized with the objective of producing human resources for the film sector and making them capable to make films. A total of 25 participants will be trained by Bishnu Kalpit during the workshop. (RSS)
