Banks have decided to provide loans at concessional rates to new and old entrepreneurs who have experience in government priority programmes like entrepreneurship development training.
The bank will provide the loan at cheaper rates to the entrepreneurs who have started their business with skill and knowledge but lack financing. Sabita Shahi, manager of Rastriya Banijya Bank, Humla, said that the bank would provide loans at concessional rates to entrepreneurs running their businesses with entrepreneurship development training and those facing financial limitations.
She said that the loan can be extended against the certificate depending on the nature of the work of the entrepreneurs who are working efficiently. Currently, the rural municipalities are running enterprise development programme at the village level.
Manager of Shangrila Development Bank, Chandra Prasad Lamsal, said that the entrepreneurs running small businesses with basic and advanced training can avail of the credit.
He said that the entrepreneurs running the businesses can take a loan of up to Rs. 500,000 without collateral and more if they need to take a loan at a concessional rate of five per cent annually.
He also urged the working businessmen not to miss this opportunity. For this, all the four banks running in the district have said that they would invest in entrepreneurs at the cheaper interest rate.
The programme has produced 604 entrepreneurs in three years by imparting both types of training, said Govinda Shahi, Executive Director of Snowland Integrated Development Centre Nepal. He said that the training has been given especially to the businesses such as nettle (Sisno) processing, garment, mushroom farming and soap manufacturing.
