Leaders of the Netra Bikram Chand-led Nepal Communist Party have been arrested from various parts of the country, after the government put a ban on the violent activities of the party. Accordingly, four district-level leaders were arrested from Kapilvastu.
According to SP at the district police office, Kapilvastu, Achyutam Prasad Pudasaini, Shyam Das Pasi and Raj Mangal Tharu were arrested from Banaganga municipality. And Durga Lal Khatri was arrested from Shivagadhi and Yubaraj Neupane from Kapilvastu.
Police have also arrested four cadres on the charge of their involvement in bomb explosion at different places of Kathmandu Valley. A police team deployed from Metropolitan Crime Division arrested Num Bahadur BK of Dang, Dikendra Rai of Bhojpur, Shiva Dhimal of Jhapa and Bishal Tamang of Sindhupalchowk.
They were arrested on the charge of their involvement in bomb explosion near Ncell tower office at Nakhkkhu of Lalitpur on February 22 where a person died and two others were injured, as well as bomb explosion at a house of Rohan Gurung at Basundhara, said acting Chief at the Division, Kedar Dhakal.
BK and Rai were arrested from Kathmandu while Dhimal and Tamang from Kavre.
Dhimal and Tamang were arrested following an exchange of fire at Kafaldanda of Kavre district. The cross fire took place between the two sides after police carried out a raid in their hideout in course of searching for those involved in the bomb blasts that took place in Kathmandu recently, according to information officer at the Criminal Investigation Bureau of Nepal Police, SP Somendra Singh Rathour.
