The prohibitory order imposed in Kalikot district from the third week of May is being relaxed.
After a sudden rise in the number of COVID-19 patients, the District Administration Office, Kalikot, issued a restriction order effective from May 22, 2021.
Street businesses in the district headquarters have started opening after the restriction order were relaxed from Monday.
Street business has been good at Zero Point in the eastern part of Manma.
Trade has started growing along the Karnali Highway where fruits, vegetables and tea are available on the roadside.
The shops, which have been closed for almost four months, are reopening over the days. Although the district administration office had asked to open the shops only in the morning from last week, the shops are opened during the days too.
Mahendra Shahi, who has been operating street business at Zero Point, said that he was very happy to resume hotel business that had been closed for four months.
The business of fruit shops operating at Zero Point has also been growing with the increase of people’s flow on the road. The means of transportation on the roads have also started operating more than usual.
The flow of people has been increasing after buses plying to Jumla, Kalikot, Surkhet, Nepalgunj and Kathmandu came into operation.
Jarma Singh, who has been running a fruit shop for a long time, said that 15 to 20 kg of apples and the same amount of bananas and other fruits are being sold daily.
