Chief Minister of Bagmati State Dormani Poudel on Sunday said there was a need to strengthen legal measures to make federalism acceptable to all.
Only successful implementation of federalism strengthens democracy, he said while addressing an annual review meeting of the district coordination committee, Makawanpur.
He urged people’s representatives to create infrastructures from which people get benefits directly, stressing the need for effective implementation of the projects recommended by the ward committee.
On the occasion, the State Assembly members Prem Bahadur Pulami and Santa Bahadur Praja stressed the need for local people’s representatives playing an important role in completing infrastructure projects in the given timetable and for bringing income-generating programming for the poor.
National Assembly member Ram Chandra Rai said local people’s representatives have major role in saving people from global COVID-19 pandemic.
On the occasion, various organisations were honoured for contributing significantly to minimise infection risks. The meeting was attended also by mayors and deputy mayors of Hetauda Sub Metropolitan City and Thaha Municipality and Chairs and Vice Chairs of eight rural municipalities.
