‘Chha Maya Chapakkai’, released on 11th October has been warmly received by the audience – and in 10 days of theatrical screening has posted a box office collection of NRS 9 crores. The film has become the second highest grossing film of 2019 after Ram Babu Gurung’s Kabaddi Kabaddi Kabaddi which collected 13 crores worldwide. Meanwhile, the momentum for Cha Maya Chapakkai continues as it rolls onto its second week.
A part of Deepak-Deepa’s ‘Chakka Panja’ series, Cha Maya Chapakkai is being received well in Australia too – screenings in Sydney, Melbourne, and Hobart were received with enthusiasm, according to organisers. The film stars Deepak Raj Giri and Keki Adhikari in the lead roles. Produced by Rohit Adhikari and directed by Dipendra Lama, the film broaches several political and social issues along with a certain dramatic flair.
The film has been hailed by several film critics, and is on the path towards becoming one of the best selling films of the Nepali cinema industry.
