CPN (UML) Chairperson KP Sharma Oli has asserted that the need of the hour was to move ahead on the path of consensus and collaboration.
Responding to the queries of journalists while emerging out after today’s House of Representatives (HoR) meeting, Chairperson Oli, clarified that he has not yet broached the matter relating to formation of the national consensus government.
Similarly, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs Rabi Lamichhane reaffirmed that he would work continuously and without any distraction from the commitments made with the general public during the recently held parliamentary elections.
“The government has been formed after the people’s mandate. Let’s not embroil into political flights anymore. The incumbent government will deliver devising a common minimum programme and would function as per the people’s mandate,” assured DPM Lamichhane.
Also speaking to the journalists following the parliament’s meeting, Nepali Congress general-secretary Gagan Thapa assured that his party would deliver on the responsibilities towards the country and people.
Likewise, CPN (UML) secretary Yogesh Kumar Bhattarai shared that all political parties have expressed their commitments in the parliament to address the burning issues facing the country. “That commitment was the biggest force to reckon with in the parliament.”
He praised the moves of the new political parties stating that they have accepted the constitution and managed to secure a berth in the parliament through the democratic process. “This speaks volume for all-side acceptance of the constitution.” (RSS)
