The rainfall taking place across the country from Thursday and the snowfall in the mountainous region is likely to continue even today, according to the Weather Forecasting Division.
Senior Meteorologist at the Division Shanti Kandel said that effects of the westerly winds that entered into Nepal from the western belt led to a change in the current weather pattern resulting in rainfall. The westerly wind is moving towards the eastern parts of the country, it is said. The change in the weather and rain is likely to continue until Saturday; while the chances of heavy rainfall at one or two places of the country are likely, the Division forecasted.
The country would remain generally to mostly cloudy. Light to moderate rain is likely to continue at many places of the country, the Division said.
The Division has also forecasted the possibility of light to moderate snowfall at many places of the high mountainous region and chances of heavy snowfall at a few places of the high mountainous region.
Senior Meteorologist Kandel said that the sky over the Kathmandu valley will remain clear for some time this afternoon but again remain cloudy.
