Chitwan National Park, Nepal’s first national park, established on September 4, 1973, is going to celebrate its golden jubilee year starting next week.
The park will conduct various programmes in its premises on that day, relating to conservation for the year.
Enlisted in the World Heritage List in 1984, Chitwan National Park is home to more than 60 species of animals and more than 546 species of birds.
It is spread across 952.63 sq km of land and covers areas of Chitwan, Makwanpur, Parsa and Nawalparasi districts.
