CM Shakya To Seek Vote Of Confidence Today


The Bagmati Province Government led by Chief Minister Astalaxmi Shakya, which has fallen into minority, will be undergoing floor test in the Provincial Assembly on Wednesday.
CM Shakya had fallen into minority within a week of her appointment as the Chief Minister. She is obtaining the vote of confidence two months after falling into minority.
She had tabled the proposal of vote of confidence in the Provincial Assembly Secretariat on October 10.

In the Provincial Assembly meeting held on Thursday last week, CM Shakya had requested the assembly members to vote in her favour.
In the meeting, members representing the ruling coalition from CPN (Maoist Centre), Nepali Congress, CPN (Unified Socialist) and Janata Samajwadi Party-Nepal had stated that they would not provide confidence vote to the CM and had requested the latter to facilitate a way out by resigning from her position.

The meeting is being held at 1:00 pm Wednesday afternoon.
Speaker Sanu Kumar Shrestha will be taking forward all the procedures relating to the floor test.
