COVID-19: Daily Update from Nepal’s Ministry of Health and Population

Dr. Bikash Devkota, Speaker for the Ministry of Health and Population appeared on Facebook Live for the day’s media briefing. Here are a few updates:

Total no. of tests done in Nepal: 33,562 ( PCR: 8,414 + Rapid Test: 25,148)

No. of tests in last 24 hours: 3,995

Tests outside Kathmandu: Dharan, Pokhara, Hetauda, Janakpur, Surkhet, Dhangadi, Dhulikhel, Bharatpur, Nepalgunj, Bhairawaha (PCR Tests)

Rapid Diagnostic Tests: 25,148

(RDT Started in every districts)

(Swab samples of individuals who have tested positive in RDT is sent for PCR test )

No. of people in isolation: 111

Inside Valley: 4

Outside valley: 107

(On suspicion of coronavirus, tests either yet to be done, or results are awaited)

Contact Tracing: On going

No. of cases: 31 (27 active, 4 recovery)
