CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has expressed his confidence that he would soon reach to the position to lead the country again.
At a closing of the diamond jubilee ceremony of Mahendra Primary School at Annapurna Rural Municipality-1 in Kaski of Wednesday, he promised to work in a way that the next generation would also tangibly notice, understand and learn if he gained an opportunity to provide leadership to the country.
In his address to the programme, Prachanda also the former Prime Minister, said, “I have no long time to serve the country from now onward. I will be reaching the position to lead the country soon if your blessings, love and best wishes work”.
Chair Prachanda clarified his foremost priority would be to control corruption and advance good governance if he came along with an opportunity to take country leadership.
He recalled his second inning in the government as a successful tenure to consolidate national unity and take the entire country to a democratic process by uniting Madhes, hill and mountainous regions.
Saying that he would dedicate his remaining life for good governance and development, he said the people through the recent election have given both opportunity and challenges to the leaders of political parties.
There is no option for political parties to review the recent election results and engage efforts for economic development and prosperity, Prachanda added. “The country might fall into a difficult situation if we fail to make serious review and begin a campaign to deliver development and prosperity with good governance”.
He termed the emergence of new political parties through the election as positive development.
Chairperson of Annapurna rural municipality, Bishnu KC said Prachanda should again take the prime ministerial berth for the development and prosperity of the nation.
As noted, the school is located in the birthplace of former PM Dahal where he pursued his primary education as well.(RSS)
