“The meeting will run till tomorrow. Today’s meeting discussed the issues like, who broke the previous ruling alliance and the party’s opinion about the current government. The standing committee members are sharing their views,” said Khatiwada.
Politburo meeting might decide whether to join the government or not, he added.
When asked about the party unification with the ruling coalition partner CPN-UML, Khatiwada said that the proposal related to the party unification was not tabled at the meeting. Also, they were not in favour of party unification.
During the meeting, party chairman and standing committee members discussed the contemporary political issues, he said. The five-party alliance officially broke on Sunday after outgoing Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba and CPN (Maoist Centre) Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ failed to reach a power sharing deal.
The CPN (Maoist Centre) chairman Prachanda was appointed as the Prime Minister of the country on Sunday after receiving support from 165 lawmakers of CPN-UML and other small parties. Prime Minister Prachanda formed an eight-member cabinet with three deputy prime ministers on Monday.
