Deuba takes oath as PM two hours late


Nepali Congress President and newly appointed Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has been sworn in. Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba, who was appointed as the Prime Minister by the Supreme Court, has been sworn in.

Other ministers appointed along with the prime minister have also been sworn in. Bal Krishna Khanna, Janardan Sharma, Pampha Bhusal and Gyanendra Karki have been sworn in.

Leaders of the coalition parties Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda, Upendra Yadav, Baburam Bhattarai and others were present on the occasion. The swearing-in ceremony, scheduled to begin at 6 p.m., began just after 8 p.m.
