Dhanwantari Jayanti Today

Dhanwantari Jayanti, which is celebrated every year on Kartik Krishna Trayodashi, is being celebrated all over the country by organising various programmes on Tuesday.
The day celebrates the birth anniversary of Dhanwantari, the doctor of Ayurveda, the pioneer of Ayurveda, the oldest Vedic medicine based on herbs found in the forest.
Dhanwantrai Jayanti was officially celebrated in Nepal for the first time after the establishment of Ayurveda Campus in Naradevi, Kathmandu in 1985 BS.

Ayurveda Campus, established in the name of the State Ayurveda College, is in operation as a teaching hospital of the Ayurveda Hospital. The campus has now shifted to Kirtipur.
Similarly, Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre, Embassy of India, Kathmandu and Ayurveda Campus, Institute of Medicine and Tribhuvan University on Monday jointly organised a webinar on “Ayurveda for Well Being – Prospects and Challenges” as a part of week-long celebration to observe the 6th Ayurveda Day (Dhanwantari Jayanti).
The day is celebrated as Rastiya Aarogya Diwas in Nepal.
