Election Commission Asks JSP Chair Thakur To Submit Signatures Of Central Members

The Election Commission of Nepal has asked Chairman of Janata Samajwadi Party, Nepal (JSP) Mahanth Thakur to submit signatures of central executive committee members.

Raj Kumar Shrestha, ECN spokesperson, said that the commission asked Thakur to submit signatures of the central executive committee members as there were no signatures of the members in the letter registered at the commission with regard to dismissal of the other JSP chair Upendra Yadav from the party.

Similarly, another JSP chair Yadav had also registered a letter on Tuesday at the commission informing it of the dismissal of four of JSP leaders including chair Thakur from the party. As Yadav’s letter included the decision with the signatures of the party central executive members, no such requirement was demanded from him.

However, both the rival factions of the JSP have been asked in writing to submit details as per schedule 18 of the regulation relating to political parties, 2074. No deadline has been fixed for submission of the details.
