Far-flung public schools getting tech-savvy

Primary public schools being operated in Baitadi’s remote Shivanath Rural Municipality are becoming tech-savvy.

The rural municipality has started installing internet in all primary public schools so as to make them technology-friendly.

Chairperson of Shivanath rural municipality Karna Singh Saud informed that internet service will be set up in all public schools running classes from 1-3, 1-5 and 1-8. “We are confident that internet setup at schools would also help run technical education. It would resultantly drive the schools towards technology-enabled learning process”.

In collaboration with the Rural Telecommunications Development Board of Nepal Telecommunications Authority (NTA), the rural municipality has handed over equipment to 27 schools operational in its territory.

The Authority had made available the equipment necessary for installing the internet and the set of equipment was handed over to the schools.

The equipment was provided with support from the Authority to expand access of the students of far-flung areas to internet service. (RSS)
