A joint market monitoring team here has slapped fines totaling Rs 10 million on five different pharmacies in Nuwakot district on Thursday for selling medicines without invoice.
The Department of Drug Administration, the District Administration Office, Nuwakot and the District Police Office in Nuwakot during its market monitoring found out that five pharmacies in the district headquarters Bidur were involved in such activities.
Each five errant pharmacies namely Sapkota Medical Hall at Bidur Municipality-2, Samman Medical Hall and Battar Polyclinic and Anjana Medical Hall and Bidur Pharmacy at at Bidur Municipality-4 and Samir Pharmacy in Bidur Municipality-1 were fined Rs 200,000, according to the Chief District Officer of Nuwakot, Jhangnath Dhakal.
The errant pharmacies have been asked to deposit the fine in bank account within seven days and provide a copy of the deposit slip to the District Administration Office in Nuwakot.
Similarly, the inspection team have also booked some pharmacies running without meeting basic criteria. The Chayanath Medical Hall and Deurali Pharmacy at Myagang Rural Municipality-3 were running without registration. These pharmacies were sealed off.
Likewise, the Tadi Pharma and Dhupcheshwor Pharmacy at Tadi Rural Municipality in the district were also fined Rs 10,000 each for not having purchase bill.
