Newly appointed Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr. Bimala Paudyal Rai has assumed the office.
Minister Dr. Paudyal reached the foreign ministry office to assume the office in Sighdurbar after being sworn-in at the Office of the President.
She was welcomed by the foreign secretary and other officers at the ministry. A member of the National Assembly (NA), Paudyal is the third women foreign minister in the history of Nepal.
Assuming the office, Dr. Paudyal said that she would prioritise making it easy for people to get services of the foreign ministry.
She said she would strive to make Nepal’s foreign policy stable as well as dynamic so as to promote Nepal’s interests and global standing.
