Foreign secretary tables griefs of developing nations in UN General Assembly


Foreign secretary Bharat Raj Paudyal attended the 77th session of the UN General Assembly in New York hosted by US President Joe Biden yesterday on 22nd September, 2022.

He addressed the committee of the Non-Alignment Movement (NAM) yesterday highlighting the impacts of climate change and COVID-19 on poor and developing countries.

He stated significant topics for discussion in the meeting including economy, livelihood, and climate change.

He pushed that NAM should aim at uplifting lives and creating equal opportunities in impoverished countries. He also asked the NAM to move into reforming the global economy stating its impacts on developing countries.

“As one of the founding members of NAM, Nepal places unwavering faith in the principles of NAM and is committed to realizing our aspirations of peace and prosperity,” Paudyal stated.
